David Roth (MA)– back with his Folk ‘N Great Music!
Jun 25 @ 5:00 pm

Stories, songs, laughs, instrumentals, and an uplifting presence is what you’ll enjoy at a rare David Roth concert in the DC-metro area. His topics are wide-ranging– from Louis Armstrong… to an influential nun… to Rosa Parks… to a Manhattan bakery… to a well-known national pizza chain… to the Star-Spangled Banner… to an ingenious school janitor… to a dog’s new diet to… well, I think you get it.  All topics, all meaningful, and all in David’s beautiful voice.
If you’d like to see David perform, check out my (amateur) video of his Folk ‘N Great Music showcase!
It will simply be impossible to leave this show and not feel inspired to be a better person in your community and on this planet. You can read and listen to more of David Roth at

Heather Aubrey Lloyd @ Folk 'N Great Music
May 12 @ 7:30 pm

Heather Aubrey Lloyd has co-fronted Baltimore’s ilyAIMY (i love you And I Miss You) for 15 years, playing everything from bars to bait shops to clothing-optional resorts nationwide. After a solo stint backing Dar Williams, Lloyd started work on a solo CD. 2017’s “A Message in the Mess” is exactly that: A storybook drawn from real life, but populated by colorful, larger-than-life characters: Hippie Tooth Faeries, Jackson Pollock reincarnated as a flock of pigeons and aspiring animal crackers. The common thread: Lloyd’s stunning and emotive alto, pushed to new limits in inventive arrangements featuring mandolin, banjo, upright bass, ukulele and delightfully bizarre percussion (yes, that really is recorded bubble wrap). She is both a 2017 Telluride Troubadour Finalist and a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival MOST WANTED Artist. 2018 started with TWO more honors: the Songwriter’s Association of Washington/Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Director’s Award for “Album of the Year” and semi-finalist for the prestigious Bernard/Ebb Songwriter Award.

Zoe Mulford
Jul 22 all-day
If you miss seeing Zoe Mulford in Rockville on July 22nd, it’s not likely you’ll have another chance soon.
After years of wanting to include her in my series, Zoe is finally performing for my friends and fans during her upcoming trip from England!
Zoe Mulford charms audiences with powerful, story-driven songwriting, an engaging stage presence, and an unlabored vocal style. She backs her voice with guitar or claw-hammer banjo, drawing on the traditional music of Appalachia and the British Isles and stealing a few pages from the American Songbook to create music that feels both comfortably lived-in and sparklingly fresh. She has been a Kerrville Newfolk finalist and a Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist. Her songs have been recognized by the Great American Song Contest and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, and appeared in Sing Out! Magazine. Her song “Welcome In Another Year” has become a seasonal favorite on folk radio. Raised near Philadelphia, Zoe is now based in Manchester, England. You can enjoy her songs by clicking here and here.

UnNaugural Concert!
Jan 18 all-day

In 2017, we brought 5 performers (featuring Sweet Honey in the Rock!) to raise funds for 5 progressive causes. A crowd of over 500 helped us support Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, the Brady Campaign, League of Conservation Voters, and the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force.

In 2018, we decided to do it again! Five performers performed to benefit Maryland Hunger Solutions, Health Care for All, CASA de Maryland, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

We’re now planning our 3rd UnNaugural Concert! Be sure you sign up to get invited:
