Suggested minimum contribution: $25 per person

A protegee of beloved local music legend John Jennings, Jen Cass has a voice and a catalog of songs that draw you in and demand that you listen closely. Her song, “Dear Mr. President” first attracted my attention for the way it respectfully demanded answers about the questionable wisdom of war. A former judge, Jen is an attorney who prosecutes sex crimes and uses music as an outlet for her passion and observations on the world.  If you haven’t seen her since she was at Folk ‘N Great Music in 2011, please take a moment to watch a video and read more about Michigan-based Jen Cass at

Regular Folk ‘N Great Music guests will remember award-winning Nick Annis‘s concert here in 2012.  I’m delighted to be bringing him back up from Florida for this show! With his rich baritone voice and both ironic and powerful musical commentary on people, relationships, and much more, Nick is a performer you’ll want to see again.  If you need a laugh, check out this video about his “other life” outside of music. To see a full Main Stage performance that Nick earned at the prestigious NERFA conference, watch here.  You can learn more about Nick at

David Roth (MA)– back with his Folk ‘N Great Music!
Jun 25 @ 5:00 pm

Stories, songs, laughs, instrumentals, and an uplifting presence is what you’ll enjoy at a rare David Roth concert in the DC-metro area. His topics are wide-ranging– from Louis Armstrong… to an influential nun… to Rosa Parks… to a Manhattan bakery… to a well-known national pizza chain… to the Star-Spangled Banner… to an ingenious school janitor… to a dog’s new diet to… well, I think you get it.  All topics, all meaningful, and all in David’s beautiful voice.
If you’d like to see David perform, check out my (amateur) video of his Folk ‘N Great Music showcase!
It will simply be impossible to leave this show and not feel inspired to be a better person in your community and on this planet. You can read and listen to more of David Roth at
“Hot Soup” trio brings their harmonies back to Rockville!

Heather Aubrey Lloyd @ Folk 'N Great Music
May 12 @ 7:30 pm

Heather Aubrey Lloyd has co-fronted Baltimore’s ilyAIMY (i love you And I Miss You) for 15 years, playing everything from bars to bait shops to clothing-optional resorts nationwide. After a solo stint backing Dar Williams, Lloyd started work on a solo CD. 2017’s “A Message in the Mess” is exactly that: A storybook drawn from real life, but populated by colorful, larger-than-life characters: Hippie Tooth Faeries, Jackson Pollock reincarnated as a flock of pigeons and aspiring animal crackers. The common thread: Lloyd’s stunning and emotive alto, pushed to new limits in inventive arrangements featuring mandolin, banjo, upright bass, ukulele and delightfully bizarre percussion (yes, that really is recorded bubble wrap). She is both a 2017 Telluride Troubadour Finalist and a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival MOST WANTED Artist. 2018 started with TWO more honors: the Songwriter’s Association of Washington/Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Director’s Award for “Album of the Year” and semi-finalist for the prestigious Bernard/Ebb Songwriter Award.
